    Andrew Wimmel,

Sam Hill Tree Care ... Operations Manager • Arborist • Safety Manager

Andrew is the Operations Manager and Senior Arborist for Sam Hill Tree Care. He is a transplant from southwest Missouri that joined the team in 2016. In the Operations role Andrew directs the safety, production and personnel development for the Tree Care and Plant Health Care divisions of the company. As the Senior Arborist, Andrew manages or assists Sam with the more complicated projects for the company. These range from tree preservation through construction, to tree risk assessment and also to developing and implementing total tree and landscape management plans for our clients.

Andrew began his leadership journey when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2006. During his six years in the infantry he attended many professional military education (PME) courses. The most profound influence on him was when he assisted in the Funeral Honors for several Marines who were killed in operations overseas. The time serving the families of fallen Marines stayed with him after he left the service honorably in 2012 as a Sergeant.

Andrew is a Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) through the Tree Care Industry Association. Maintaining a Certified Treecare Safety Professional on staff means that organizations are committed to safe practices in arboricultural operations. He is also a voting member of the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) ANSI Z133. This committee sets national safety standards for the tree care industry. He is fortunate to sit and learn from subject matter experts and leaders throughout the industry. He brings this training and experience back to sharpen the Sam Hill team and the greater DFW tree care industry. Andrew strives to leave a legacy of servant leadership and cultivating generosity.

Andrew is a frequent speaker for regional training events for those studying to become ISA Certified Arborists. Andrew holds an A.A.S in Turf and Landscape Management. He is an ISA Certified Arborist and is working towards his Board Certified Master Arborist credential. He is Texas Oak Wilt Qualified and ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified. Additionally, he is a TDA Commercial Pesticide Applicator and a Certified Professional Turfgrass Manager through the Texas Turfgrass Association.

Andrew and Sara, his bride of six years, are very active in their church community. They are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Anna and Deborah. They also have a furbaby, Maximus, that keeps the house quite lively. When they are not reading, Andrew and his family love to grill, hike, play outdoors and explore this new state of theirs (the Ft. Worth Zoo is a family favorite).
