Helping irrigators better understand the components of an irrigation system and their uses. Learn the “why” of how to apply water to the landscape. How to retrieve information from the irrigation system to increase efficiency of water in the landscape to be more profitable. What are the functions of irrigation system components? With basic knowledge of the system components, we can better manage the water to the landscape and increase profitability. During this session gain knowledge in: -Backflow prevention is for health and safety of the public -Understanding hydraulics is a foundational component to a properly functioning irrigation system -gallon per minute vs. precipitation vs. evapotranspiration -Clear communication from the Sensors to controller to you Ramzi White is a Senior Branch Manager for SiteOne Landscape Supply, in the Lubbock and Amarillo market. He has a Master of Science in Horticulture from Texas Tech University with a specific field of study in Turfgrass, as well as, being a licensed irrigator in Texas. He also strives to learn something new daily as he works with the team to better serve their customers. Prior to being in the Landscape industry, he served in the Air Force as a TACP.

These alternative sources of water for irrigation, coupled with the technological advancement of irrigation systems and water-efficient landscapes will help relieve the stress on Texans’ drinking water. This class introduces alternative water sources for the landscape and provides and overview of regulations and terminology. As Texas’ population and economy continue to grow, we must evolve in our current practices so that our potable water resources can be sustainable for future development. As the shift of our water resources move from agriculture and to urban development the efficiency of that water use must increase.
